If you don't know him, you'll wonder who is Carlos Coello?

Carlos is a fighter born in the Andalusian province of Cádiz who fell in love with Muay Thai and in 2009 after visiting Thailand he decided that he needed to spend as much time as possible in the kingdom of Siam to improve his skills in the art of the 8 limbs.

Since then Carlos has not stopped competing mainly in Thailand at the Lumpinee Stadium, but also in other countries such as Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, China and Japan and has accumulated an impressive record in professional Muay Thai that today is 81 fights with 57 wins, 23 losses and 1 draw.

Carlos currently lives in Rayong, Thailand where he trains in the 7 Muaythai Gym team.

Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championship, a.k.a ADCC is a competition where the most important athletes from BJJ, Wrestling, Judo Sambo and MMA face each other.

Our sponsored athlete Elvira Karppinen “Ellu” was invited to participate in ADCC, taking place in Finland at Espoo Metro Arena on 23rd e 24th of September.

Our champion had a summer fulfilled of victories. Despite the fact that has been defeated at Polaris 5 in the last 19th of August by referee decision “Ellu” Karppinen took 6 wins in a row at Open Finland (IBJJF Open) on 26th e 27th August. This results allow her to be at NO GI Open in December.

A great Challenge for Elvira Karppinen

When her career started, Elvira Karppinen had the goal and also the dream to participate in this international competition where she would face the 8 most proeminent women in the world of Grappling.

“Few years ago, I couldn't imagine that, in a couple of days my dream will come true" stated Elvira wich refers also to the previlege of ADCC 2017 is happening in Finland!

This is how Enrique Marin described meeting again former UFC rival Sage Northcutt.

The Texas native beat our sponsored fighter by unanimous decision at last summer's UFC 200 in Las Vegas and, as a result of the close friendship they have sincedeveloped, “Super Sage” invited Wasabi to his hometown of Houston to help him prepare for his next fight at UFC 214 on the 29th of this month.

The visit has served as an opportunity for Enrique Wasabi to train in the US, learn new skills and stay in touch with MMA’s elite.

Sadly, both Sage Northcutt and his rival Makdessi injured themselves while training so they are no longer part of the UFC 214 card.

Last weekend, the World IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Championship 2017 took place at The Walter Pyramid, Long Beach (California).

This amazing event was pumped up in adrenaline with so many good fights, surprises and audience atmosphere.

Som of the surprises were the performances of Patrick Gaudio, Marcos Tinoco e Nicholas Meregali.

However, it wasn't a good championship to Santeri Lilius, despite the fact that he gave everything on those fights, the opponents were very difficult and well trained. On Santeri words, he isn't disappointed with the results, because he knows that he made everything to win. Now...time to rest and recover for September.

Our sponsored athlete Marco "Facas" Santos, from Portugal always reaching us with good news.

Less than 10 days ago, fought in the event Final Fight League, a BJJ Tournament organized by the Professor Antonio Netto from Academia Pantera Negra, were Marco got the 1st Place in Black Belt.

Happy with the result, he's preparing for the Black Belt Challenge, another invitational BJJ tournment with the main BJJ black belts from Portugal and also with some international guest fighters.

The event will take place in 10th June in Lisbon.

Last weekend (6th and 7th May) we had the IBJJF Master European Championship 2017 at the Complejo Deportivo de l'Hospitalet Nord in Barcelona.

Mathias Ribeiro got the Gold Medal, becoming European Champion at Medium Master 1 - Black Belt, in the first edition of teh International Master Europe IBJJF.

Beside that, Mathias Ribeiro Team got the 3rd Place in Teams Podium, with only 13 Athletes, considering that the other teams of the Podium, Gracie Barra and Checkmat had 80 and 50 athletes respectively
